Diet & Nutrition
As this topic is covered in great detail in other portions of this
site, any "Cliffnotes" on the subject would not do it justice.
Oral Hygiene
As your mouth is the portal of entry for the greatest number of
Candida causing elements, extra special care is strongly advised.
Brush your teeth with a soft bristle brush thoroughly for two to
three minutes at least twice daily. As for the actual toothpaste,
there are those that contain tea tree oil. Another possibility would
be for you to add one drop of pure tea tree oil to your regular
toothpaste each time you brush. Either of these would be of great
benefit to your oral health. Think about your toothbrush…what comes
to mind if you thought someone else was using it? Well they are!
It is an ideal breeding ground for your Candida, nice and wet with
sweet toothpaste residue to feed on.
It takes about 36 hours for a toothbrush to dry completely. By
using the same brush daily, Candida and their friends can easily
live on the moist surface. Two options to avoid contamination and
bacterial growth. One, rotate among three different toothbrushes;
or two, keep your brush soaking in a baking soda solution.
Flossing picks up where brushing stops, as brushing cannot get
between your teeth. Flossing properly done will also take two to
three minutes and would ideally be done twice a day but a minimum
of once a day.
Now begins the tongue scraping. This process done in the morning
and at bedtime everyday is a must for appropriate Candida treatment.
Next comes the mouthwash rinse. Rather than use an ordinary mouthwash
made of a sweetened alcohol mix we recommend using solar sea salt
in non-chlorinated purified water, or liquid chlorophyII in non-chlorinated
purified water.
Personal Cleanliness
For personal cleanliness, bathe or shower daily with a fresh towel
each time. Use a shower/bath filter as they can remove chlorine,
lead, copper, asbestos, and other contaminants and pollutants from
your water. Make sure bathtub is thoroughly cleaned and properly
rinsed before bathing.
During your Candida treatment, it is imperative that toxins and
poisons exit the body speedily to avoid constipation or blockages
that slow or impede the healing process. Some of the ways to accomplish
this include: saunas, steam baths, Epsom salt baths, hot/cold showers,
and skin cleansing using a dry or wet brush.
(Intimate details)
Candida and its toxins can travel to virtually all organs and
tissues in the body. It is normally found in the gastrointestinal
tract that runs from "one end to the other end." Based on its affinity
for mucus membranes, any bodily orifice is at serious risk.
It is quite common to have such symptoms as: rectal itching
and/ or rash, burning on urination, vaginitis, and genital itching
and/ or rash.
Along with daily bathing, loose fitting cotton under-ware is
advised, and if you wear pantyhose, they should also have a cotton
panel.
Keeping in mind the earlier mentioned testing with nuclear bombs
and the amazing Candida survival rate, it should be mentioned that
if you have persistent, recurrent vaginitis, your under-ware becomes
infected. Even repeated machine-washing with detergents do not do
the job. Place the moistened under-ware in the microwave on high
for five minutes to destroy the Candida.
During the menstrual cycle, be aware that a sanitary pad can
act as easy access from one orifice to another for the Candida.
Therefore, a tampon is preferable. However, it is important to note
that the same tampon should not remain in place for over two to
three hours.
Household Cleanliness
Keeping a clean, uncluttered living space is important to our emotional
as well as physical health. Clean all areas that have mold and mildew
with rubber gloves and appropriate cleaning products. Sinks, bowls
and tubs should be cleaned twice a week. Pay special attention to
food preparation areas. Hydrogen peroxide can be sprayed on kitchen
counters and work areas. Using "waxed paper" can provide a quick,
clean surface for some food preparation and is easily cleaned up.
Indoor air quality has become an important health factor. Portable
air purifiers are available in wide varieties of sizes and prices.
Some have air ionizers which add energizing negative ions to the
air supply for daytime use. Vacuum cleaners also come with HEPA
filters which can trap up to 99.99% of the dust/allergen causing
particles down to 0.3 microns in size. Dehumidifiers can be used
in cold weather or damp rooms which can contribute to Candida which
breed in damp places. If possible airing out a house at least once
per day is advisable.
Rest and Relaxation
The average person employed in the United States gets from six
to seven hours of sleep during each 24 hour period. For appropriate
healing to take place in this treatment process, most people need
a minimum of seven to nine hours of sleep during each 24 hour period.
If you do not sleep well, you cannot digest your food appropriately.
If you do not appropriately digest your food, you cannot sleep well.
This is an extremely important balance to maintain, as what you
eat and the quality of your sleep have a very large say in the quality
of life that you will live.
Exercise
Aerobic exercise for twenty to thirty minutes, three to five times
per week, will greatly benefit your heart and circulatory system,
reduce stress, and accelerate the healing process. Aerobic exercise
involves continuous movement - walking, jogging, bicycling, jumping
rope, aerobic dancing etc. - for a minimum of 20 minutes. You can
tell if the intensity of your exercise is about right, if you can
still carry on a conversation while you are exercising (no panting
or puffing).
Weight bearing exercise can be done on alternate days, which will
enhance bone and muscle development as well as aid in weight management.
Stretching, Yoga, Tai chi, Qi gong, and other disciplines can also
enhance and strengthen mind, body, and spirit.
Attitude
Research by psychologist Martin Seligman of the University of Pennsylvania
revealed that optimistic people are happier, healthier and more
successful than those with a negative attitude.
Our attitude is ours, we own it and have the freedom to change
and direct it. While it is sometimes challenging to maintain hope
in diverse situations, our immune systems do respond to our state
of mind. Many disciplines (biology, physics, medicine, religious
studies etc.) are finding through various studies that our body,
mind, emotions, and immune system work as a whole.
Prayer, meditation, and deep breathing have been shown to strengthen
the immune system. Even a few minutes a day can have a positive
effect. For some this "quiet" time is best spent in nature with
fresh air and sunshine and/or in our gardens or with pets. All aid
in our emotional, physical, and spiritual health. And for desert,
add a large portion of laughter as part of your day - it, too, has
been shown to enhance the immune system.
